Of course in our daily life, battery is the most wanted thing (you can say material). Specially in night time power goes, we need to sit in dark. otherwise we have to search for a battery. Using battery we can have light source for minimum hours.But still we are not worrying about the charging process. We are worrying about the battery back up. If we charge the battery for eight hours, back up will come for four hours if the battery is new. Which means we are getting exactly the half(50%) . So we the common people are not having satisfaction.
Production of Electricity is not so cheep, means in wind production if the turbine rotates twice we are able to save only the current, which produces from one rotation. Here we are wasting the electricity more than what we burn in our Marriages and Parties.
What and where it is going wrong, whether in electrolyte or in electrodes. Many research groups are working on different things like different electrolytes(Chemical Solutions), using nano-particles some people are creating electrodes.
So we are also trying to improve the efficiency of battery means more than 50%. Whether it works or not is secondary. Doing something is better than sitting quite.
Note:
2) Battery efficiency is 50% not in all cases. But whatever we are using for household those are all of 50% efficiency.
